Laurence Chandler

Laurence E. Chandler was born in 1946. A native of Baltimore, MD, Laurence E. Chandler is best known as an Abstract Expressionist and gestural painter. Chandler graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in graphic design, and Coppin State University with a Master's in education. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, and spent his early art career working in both the private and public sectors. Chandler's works have been exhibited in select U.S. galleries, as well as magazines and short films. His signature style is to create paintings with bright and bold visible brushstrokes and markings. Chandler say, "As an artist, I am inspired by the complete freedom of the abstract form."
